before first use
Sterilize the pacifier in boiling water for five minutes, then let it cool completely. Check that it is fully dry before you snap it back into the plush.
washing
Machine or hand wash the plush. Washing is also how you sterilize it, so a normal cycle does both jobs. Detach the pacifier first, wash the two parts separately, and let both dry fully before putting them back together.
checking it over
Before each use, pull gently on the pacifier and on the plush around the holder. If the silicone is torn, sticky, discoloured or weakened anywhere, or if any stitching has opened, stop using it and replace it. Pacifiers wear out; this is normal and worth checking for often.
safe sleep
A safe sleep space for a baby under twelve months is a firm, flat surface with a fitted sheet and nothing else in it: no plush toys, no blankets, no pillows, no loose items. That includes this one. Keep the plush part of the wind-down routine, story time, the stroller, the car seat and toddler cuddles, and out of the crib while your baby is sleeping.
